Post extern reverbtank = effekt loop?

This (using the reverb send /return jacks as an effects loop instead) is a bad idea. The driver stage is the typical Fender paralleled 12AT7, transformer coupled to the reverb tank input. The stage was designed to drive the 8 ohm input impedance of the reverb input transducer. If you instead substitute a high impedance device like the front end of a stomp box, badness will ensue.
Re: the later post about inserting a device in series with the reverb tank, but after it: the reverb tank has a lot of insertion loss, that's why the reverb recovery stage is so gainy in these amps. I would think this would sound pretty bad. Anyway, at this point in the circuit the signal is 100% wet, what effect would you want to put only on the reverberated signal?
Jeff
