IB EXPO 2013

Read on for the info you need on IB Expo 13.

The line up of IB Expo 2013 will be:
•Richard Barbieri (Porcupine Tree, Japan)
•Julie Slick (Adrian Belew Power Trio)
•David Torn (David Bowie, loads of top class musicians)
•Liesbeth Lambrecht (Aranis)
•Jolien Wils (Libertangokwartet)
•+ IB (including Luca Calabrese & Christian Saggese)

Last year, IB Expo was sold out months in advance, so buy your treasured tickets now, just to make sure you won't miss out on this wonderful one-of-a-kind event.

The annual IB Expo 13 concert will take place at Kulturhuset in Halmstad, Sweden on Saturday, November 30th at 19.30. Doors open at 19.00.

The musicians you will enjoy listening to this year will be the following:
•Klas Assarsson - marimba, vibraphone, percussion
•Richard Barbieri - keyboards
•Luca Calabrese - trumpet
•Alex Croné - bass, woodwinds
•Samuel Hällkvist - guitar
•Mats Johansson - keyboards
•Liesbeth Lambrecht - violin
•Christian Saggese - guitar
•Julie Slick - bass
•Kjell Severinsson - drums
•David Torn - guitar
•Jolien Wils - accordion

Trumpet ace Luca Calabrese, virtuoso violinist and Aranis member Liesbeth Lambrecht and classical master guitarist Christian Saggese are familiar to IB Expo regulars, their musical skills having enriched several IB Expos. We especially welcome accordionist Jolien Wils, a conservatory trained musician and teacher from Belgium who plays Astor Piazzolla's music with the Libertangokwartet and french, belgian and klezmer music with Amuzet.

The extraordinary bassist and composer Julie Slick is known for her wide array of unique tones and melodic invention. She has developed a distinctive voice through her international performances and recordings with acts such as The Adrian Belew Power Trio, The Crimson ProjeKct, Paper Cat, Springs and others. While still in her teens, Julie had played with Jon Anderson, Alice Cooper, Stewart Copeland, Ike Willis, Eddie Vedder and Ann Wilson. Her latest album is Terroir.

Guitarist, composer, texturalist, producer ... David Torn is a musician with many voices than spans and un-defines a number of idioms and styles. A highly regarded film music composer, Torn has also collaborated with David Bowie, Jan Garbarek, Tori Amos, Don Cherry, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jeff Beck, Laurie Anderson, Mick Karn, Tony Levin, Alan White and many others.

Keyboard player Richard Barbieri started his career by playing in Japan, alongside IB Expo musician Mick Karn. Following Japan's split, Barbieri frequently joined forces with his former bandmates Mick Karn and Steve Jansen.

In 1993, Barbieri joined Porcupine Tree, one of the most popular progressive rock bands in recent years with chart success and Grammy awards to prove it. Recently, Richard Barbieri has been collaborating with Marillion vocalist Steve Hogarth.
